However, EVs account for a small percentage of this segment\u2014making retrofitting existing vehicles with hybrid technology a significant market opportunity. Founded in 2020, Green Tiger Mobility, part of India\u2019s first student-led startup accelerator \u201cConquest BITS Pilani,\u201d is addressing the challenges of EV adoption by converting conventional two-wheelers into hybrid vehicles and assisting equipment manufacturers develop quality e-mobility products.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Green Tiger Mobility recently developed a robust battery management system (BMS) that employs constant-current\/constant-voltage charging while ensuring cell balance and pack initialization. The integrated BMS and battery pack models also enable accurate simulation of real-world discharging scenarios. As a MathWorks Accelerator Program member, Green Tiger Mobility was able to use MATLAB<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, Simulink<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, and Stateflow<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><span>\u00a0<\/span>to achieve critical milestones for the BMS project. Crucially, the team also actively engaged MathWorks Consulting Services to achieve a faster time to market.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Green Tiger Mobility tasked the consulting team with developing a passive cell balancing algorithm, which is crucial to improve the efficiency of the system and lifespan optimization of the battery pack. This significantly expedited the startup\u2019s progress by enhancing comprehension of the cell balancing process, allowing the team to select appropriate balancing resistors and determine the discharge currents involved. Beyond this, the consulting team provided Green Tiger Mobility with a structured methodology for developing the battery pack model and aided in parameter estimation and improving pulse discharge testing. With the support of consulting services, the team was able to meet their deadline to complete the BMS.
